Kimelman Joins Preferred Equine

Preferred Equine Marketing, Inc. has announced the addition of Mike Kimelman to its sales team.

Kimelman will begin working with Preferred at next week’s Lexington Selected Yearling Sale and will continue on at Harrisburg and at all upcoming sales.

Kimelman is the director of equine operations at Majestic View Farm in Gartner, N.Y., as well as a U.S. Trotting Association director from District 8A and trustee of the New York State Breeding and Development Fund.

Formerly the president of Blue Chip Farms (2001 to 2014), he has a broad range of knowledge and experience within the breeding industry and public sales setting.

“Mike has devoted his entire career to the Standardbred business,” said Preferred’s David Reid. “With his years of experience at Blue Chip Farms and beyond, he’s become very well known and respected in our industry, and interacts with all the movers and shakers in our sport.

“He knows his way around the shedrow and will he will help us maintain our high standards of customer service to our clients, both sellers and buyers. We’ve worked hard to establish the Preferred brand, and are proud of it. I’m very happy he has agreed to join us.”

Kimelman also expressed his enthusiasm with joining Preferred Equine. “I’m very excited with this opportunity to be part of such an outstanding organization, one that’s the industry leader in sales. They have a solid team in place and I’m looking forward to working with them in any capacity going forward.”
