It has been reported that officials with Quad City Downs in East Moline, Illinois have announced that the facility is planning to go out of business at the end of the month.

An article by KWQC-TV6 is reporting that the track’s general manager, Tony Petrillo, has released a written statement that explains that Quad City Downs will be closing its doors at the end of January due to the state of the industry and decreased in wagering since 2001.

Quad City Downs, which currently just simulcasts races, played host to live Standardbred racing in the 1980s and early ‘90s.
