Unefoisdansmavie saved ground until the final turn, then swooped the field wide from last to score a 15-1 upset in Tuesday’s $20,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Dave Palone was content to keep Unefoisdansmavie along the cones while others attacked the leader, Mistress Valentine. But when Palone angled the nine-year-old daughter of Revenue S-Peace To The World to the center of the track for clearance, she powered by all five of her rivals to triumph in 1:54.4. Bessie was a length back in second with Whata Donato a rallying third.
Ron Burke trains Unefoisdansmavie, who now boasts $551,712 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Jack Piatt III.
Palone collected four wins and Eric Goodell three on the 15-race card.
