For the second week in a row Jeremys Successor staked claim to a victory in the $35,000 Preferred Pace at Dover Downs for the tandem of driver Sean Bier and

trainer Crissy Crissman.

Jeremys Successor, who pulled off a 7-1 upset winning last week’s assignment, was sent off as an 11-1-outsider in Monday’s quest to double up – and double up he did for owner Andrea Ann Hill of San Diego, CA.

Bier put the seven-year-old son of Mach Three on the lead by using a :27-second opener before giving way in the second quarter to Three Of Spades. That foe supplied middle panels of :55.2 and 1:23.2 before engaging round two with Jeremys Successor. Bier showed his charge racetrack and the gelding fired home in :27.3 to prevail by a head over Three Of Spades in 1:51.1. Riggins came on late to finish third.

It was the 22nd lifetime score for Jeremys Successor, who has managed to stash away more than $580,000.

In other Monday action at Dover Downs, Go West Lucky Cam captured the $32,500 Delaware Special Handicap in a time of 1:52.4 for driver Matt Kakaley. The five-year-old son of Camluck was a winner by a head over Eagle All, with Solano rounding out the top three. Josh Green owns and trains the career winner of $146,590.
