A report on mlive.com explains that the track offered 120 live races dates back in 1999, but now currently offers 32. The track's current meet is set to wrap up February 6.
“When you’ve got less days, you create a demand or urgency,” said Sports Creek Raceway General Manager Chris Locking, who also commented on simulcasting and the social nature of racetracks.
“You can’t go to a casino with $50 and last,” starting gate driver Keith Carlisle was quoted as saying. “You can last a couple hours here (with $50).”
