Utilizing a pocket-trip and the Bally's Dover passing lane, Itsrockandroll A and driver Allan Davis scored in the $39,286 Blue Hen Open Handicap Pace on Thursday, Jan. 30.
Early speed at the start of the race was provided by both Itsrockandroll A and Adam Twelve (Corey Callahan), with Adam Twelve pacing to the quarter in a blistering :26.1. The field remained in single file, allowing Adam Twelve to back off the half in :55.3. Betting favourite Captaincountrystar (Pat Berry) chased first-over down the backstretch from third, moving alongside Adam Twelve at three-quarters in 1:24 while Itsrockandroll A stalked from the pocket. Following the duelling leaders, Itsrockandroll A rocketed up the passing lane to surge to victory by a length in 1:52.3. Wehadababyetzaboy (Jason Green) rallied from last to be second and Adam Twelve held for third.
Paying $7.60 for the victory, Itsrockandroll A (A Rocknroll Dance-Miss Worthy Whitby) is owned by Elizabeth and Bret Brittingham of Delaware and trained by Don Brittingham.
There will be a Pentafecta carryover of $1,526 USD to the 15th race on Monday, Feb. 3.
