Take My Picture Pockets WEG Preferred

Making her first start since winning the Breeders Crown at the end of October 2011, trotting mare Frenchfrysnvinegar returned to the conditioned ranks at Woodbine Racetrack on Monday night and attempted to tackle the boys again, but was defeated as the pocket-pulling Take My Picture came on to win the $38,000 Preferred

Trot.

Inside assignee Frenchfrysnvinegar (Scott Zeron) fired off the gate in the 10th race forcing Take My Picture and Randy Waples to settle into the two-hole as they approached the :28-second opening quarter.

The 2011 O'Brien Award finalist proceeded to the half in :57.3 and three-quarters in 1:27 while Star Ruffnready (Mike Saftic) began to advance first over from fourth.

Star Ruffnready wore down the pacesetter as they hit the seven-eighths mark, but the quick-closing Take My Picture surged past that trotter in the final strides to score the 1:55.2 triumph by half a length. Windsong Geant (Rick Zeron) got up for third over Frenchfrysnvinegar. Favourite Andover America (Mario Baillargeon) trailed the nine-horse field early on, but closed well to finish fifth.

Take My Picture's ninth career win pushed his bankroll past the half-million dollar mark. John Drennan trains the five-year-old Classic Photo-Habits Lady gelding for owners Joseph and Laurie Davino of Clarksburg, New Jersey.

Take My Picture paid $10.50 to win as the 4-1 fourth choice.
