Mr Genesis Great At Georgian

After trying a tougher class in last start, Mr Genesis returned to Georgian Downs for his first outing of 2012 and continued his winning ways since joining the stable of trainer Colin Johnson

.

With Scott Zeron at the lines, Mr Genesis played a gritty game of catch-me-if-you-can on a chilly Tuesday night. With -16C temperatures greeting (?) the eight trotters and the track listed as one second off, Zeron zipped Mr Genesis through fractions of :28.1, 58.3 and 1:27 before confidently holding off favoured Windsong Hercules (Rick Zeron) by a length and a half in 1:56.3. Pocket sitter Green Day (Steve Byron) was a length back of the runner-up in third.

Since moving to the Johnson barn, Mr Genesis (Mr Lavec - Kiss Me You Fool) is batting .500 with eight wins in 16 outings for owner Claude Baril of Mascouche, QC.
