The hottest set of hands on Sunday evening at Flamboro Downs belonged to driver Simon Allard, who guided home five winners during the 12-race program
.
Allard started his winning ways in the second race with Titan Park (2:00), trained by his brother Rene. The resident of Hamilton, Ont. then scored with Magnum Star (1:58.1) in Race 4 for Clayton Miller before taking three in a row, starting in the eighth race. Allard was victorious with Coltin Duharas (1:57.4) for Ian Downey, Wilmington Sam (2:01.1) for Rene Allard and Trotting Colonel (2:02) for Richard Moreau.
The 27-year-old reinsman enjoyed a career best season in 2009 winning 312 races and earning over $2.6 million. With his five wins tonight, Allard now boasts 663 victories lifetime and over $4.8 million in purse earnings.
