Conditioner Trevor Williams had a successful afternoon at Century Mile on Saturday (Jan. 29), sending four of the five winners driven by Brandon Campbell on the 12-race card.
Williams’ day began with a win by A Cowboys Dream ($2.60), who collected his fifth-consecutive victory when winning a $4,400 Claiming Handicap Pace in 1:59.2. The seven-year-old mare by Living It Up controlled the pace at every pole to win by 2-1/2 lengths as the 2-5 favourite in rein to Brandon Campbell and for owner Aurel Vodon.
The early double finished with Campbell and Williams returning to the winner’s circle with West Coast Beach ($10.70), who also won going pole-to-pole in 1:59.2. A few races later, Campbell went to win for the Brent Bodor barn driving Classy Artist ($11.50), who posted a 5-1/2 length victory in 1:57.1. Campbell and Williams reunited for their last two wins on the day, scoring by open lengths with Jim Strikesitrich ($6.30) and Risin Horizon ($5.10).
Another horse scored its fifth consecutive win of the day and ironically it was one fresh out of the Trevor Williams stable. Pure Addition ($2.60) put forth a coast-to-coast performance in the $8,300 featured pace, winning by 3-1/4 lengths in 1:57.4. Chris Lancaster now trains and co-owns the six-year-old mare by Riverboat King with Rob Ostashek Holdings Ltd.
