Ontario Sires Stakes graduate Southwind Madonna added another impressive item to her resume on Friday evening at Woodbine Racetrack
thanks to an impressive score in this week’s edition of the $44,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace.
The victory was her third of the season in just four tries, and more notably it sent her lifetime earnings sailing past the $1 million mark for the father/son duo of trainer Carl MacArthur and driver Lyle MacArthur.
Southwind Madonna used “catch me if you can” tactics en route to winning the one-mile affair in 1:53.2. To Helen Back was a fast-closing runner-up and third prize went to the class-jumping Michelleanas Angel.
It was the fastest performance of the season for the seven-year-old daughter of Camluck-Table For Seven, who is owned by Carl MacArthur of Brampton and Talacadac Stable of Caledon East, ON. She is now a 25-time winner in her career.

What a GREAT accomplishment
What a GREAT accomplishment for the whole MacArthur family. Coverhalls and rubber boots you need to get 2 millionaire horses each. (eg. Gord Irwin and the MacArthur's) your pal Al Casselman<
