Trot Insider has learned that the first foal by Resolve (4,1:50.4 - $2,749,545) arrived during the morning hours of Sunday, January 27.
“Southwind Farms contacted me this morning to tell me that my Resolve filly is the first ever and that I should contact Standardbred Canada,” Michel Gaboury, of Richelieu Stables, told Trot Insider.
The filly is in the video below, attempting to feed for the first time.
Gaboury explained that the filly, who arrived at 7 a.m., is out of Ecuries Richelieu Inc.’s Angus Hall mare Chef Heartsalot.
The filly is the seventh foal out of Chef Heartsalot, whose most notable offspring to date is Jumpshot (by E L Titan), who last year at two raced to a record of 2-2-2 from eight starts, banked $74,946 and took his mark of 1:58.2 over Georgian Downs.
