Backside Blitz Carries Swan Image To Victory; Hall Wins Five

Swan Image gobbled up the field with a backside blitz that carried him to a decisive victory in Wednesday’s $25,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows

Swan Image was trotting comfortably in sixth when Brett Miller sent him uncovered for the lead. In a matter of seconds, the seven-year-old Balanced Image-Swan Lake gelding made the front en route to a :57.1 back half. He scored in 1:56, 1-3/4 lengths better than Sweet Joe, with Dangerous Tide third.

John Billings III trains Swan Image, who pushed his career bankroll to $480,267, for Larry Roman.

In the co-featured $25,000 Preferred Handicap Pace, Beeeyouuuuuu made his third straight victory seem like another day at the office as he powered to the front for Dave Palone and prevailed handily in 1:53.3. Mystery Chase was second by 2-1/4 lengths while Infinite Justice, who raced well first over, saved show.

Ron Burke trains Beeeyouuuuuu, a five-year-old gelded son of Yankee Cruiser-Fava, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, JJK Stables and M1 Stable.

Tony Hall drove five winners on the 15-race card.
