Policeman Eiler Looking To Click

One of 'Philadelphia's Finest' is hoping that his charge, Dontevenknowmymame, is one of the Meadowlands Racetrack's finest this Thursday

in the $58,500 final of the Super Bowl series at the East Rutherford, New Jersey oval.

If the daughter of Master Lavec can turn the trick from Post 2 with driver Eric Abbatiello, the win would go down as the biggest victory so far in policeman Owen Eiler Jr.'s two-year training career.

"I love the game," Eiler has been quoted as saying in an article by the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I can't get enough of it. If it wasn't for my job (a Philadelphia policeman), I'd be full-time training horses. It's a great sport."

Although Dontevenknowmyname is a relatively new recruit to Eiler's barn, the four-year-old mare is proving to be a solid investment.

"She's been very, very good to me," Eiler said. "I really thought she fit the Super Bowl Series well. Her first race for me (last October) she was a little short, but since then I've never missed the board with her. She's been good. She's got a little gate speed.

"Eric Abbatiello has been doing a real good job with her. He gets along with her really well. He clicks with her."
