A sweep of the Miss Onager Pacing Series is a strong possibility for Multifora Hanover after sweeping both $4,500 preliminary legs at Fraser Downs

In rein to Brandon Campbell, Multiflora Hanover sat the pocket behind Red Star Brooklyn (Dave Hudon) through a :27.2 opener and a :58.1 half over the sloppy going. Favoured Been Down Before (Ed Hensley) came up to challenge at the half and pressed the pace through three-quarters of 1:27. Campbell had pulled a strong Multiflora Hanover into the two path down the backstretch with thoughts of following that cover into the lane, but as the favourite laboured on the outside Campbell darted back to the rail for a passing lane surge. With the stretch in sight, Multiflora Hanover was left-lined to the inside and paced away from the field to win by two and a half lengths in 1:57.1.
Real Vintage (Mike Hennessy) closed full of pace to grab second with pacesetter Red Star Brooklyn staying for third.
Trainer Kelly Hoerdt and Blair Corbeil of Beaumont, AB share ownership on Multiflora Hanover (Western Hanover - Mixing Melodies), who is now 2-for-4 this season. The 12-time winner bumped her overall earnings past $50,000 with the victory and will take serious money from the betting public in next week's $15,500 final.
After a close second place finish in the first leg, Barona Hush made plenty of noise with a six length drubbing of her counterparts in the second division. Driver Don Monkman was in no hurry early, sitting fifth with Barona Hush while Soul N Inspiration (Campbell) and Shes Rarin (Tim Brown) took turns on the lead early. Monkman had Baronua Hush spotted second over down the backside as leader Shes Rarin started to come back to the field, and at the three-quarter station Monkman tipped out three-deep for a stunning brush to the front that proved to be the winning move. The margin of victory was six lengths in the lifetime best 1:57 triumph over Shes Rarin and Red Star Tomboy (John Abbott).
Michelle Danroth trains seven-time winner Barona Hush (Northern Dynasty-Matty Arbuckle) for Diane Bertrand and Brent Grundy of Alberta.
Jans Rich Girl got richer on Sunday after a gate-to-wire win the $12,500 Fillies & Mares Open Pace. Driver Scott Knight had Sunbury Stables' six-year-old Camluck mare on top through every call for the 1:54.3 win. Lickcreek Jazzy (Hensley) was six lengths in arrears for place with Lady Andthetrench completing the top three.
The theme of dominant divas continued throughout the card as Red Star Hannah clicked in the fourth dash of the afternoon for driver Tim Brown and trainer Ray Gemmill in 1:58.2. The three-year-old As Promised filly won her seventh straight race, earning $19,200 in those starts for Western Pacific Stable, Ian Moyes and Steve Shand of B.C.
