Red Shores is pleased to announce that Albany native and internal candidate Adam Walsh is the new Racing Experience Manager for Red Shores.

Walsh brings years of experience to the position, having served as the Senior Supervisor Racing since 2010 and as the Supervisor Cage and Count before that.

As Red Shores’ Managing Director Michael MacKinnon explains, “Adam is passionate about racing and is a real asset to the Red Shores management team. He is well-versed in the operational aspects of the business, having been involved in, or leading, all areas of the role for a few years now, including the successful launch of the off-track wagering system that sends Red Shores’ races to locations in North America and Europe.”

Walsh’s connection with the harness racing industry is deep-rooted. In addition to his experience at Red Shores, Walsh understands the passion for harness racing and the rewards and challenges that horse people experience.

“It seems that I’ve always been around horses,” Walsh says. “I used to help my dad and my uncles Hook and Sam Walsh with their horses, and then in 2002, I got a job as a pari-mutuel seller in both Charlottetown and Summerside. I’m thrilled to have built a career in the racing industry and I’m looking forward to working with all stakeholders to make the racing experience at Red Shores the best that it can be.”

Red Shores is a significant contributor to Prince Edward Island’s economy. The two locations employ a total of 260 Islanders. Both locations purchase as much locally as possible for things such as food, beverages, uniforms, marketing, etc. Red Shores and Atlantic Lottery are the presenting sponsor for PEI 2014 and Red Shores is a also a proud sponsor of Island events and charities such as Run for the Cure, the Cavendish Beach Music Festival, the Summerside Lobster Carnival, Old Home Week, the Atlantic Breeders Crown, the United Way, and toy and food drives.
