A pair of sub-1:50 performances highlighted Thursday’s card of racing at Dover Downs, with Bushwacker and Remember Me VK turning on the jets to post flashy wins in their respective assignments.

Stepping up to the $30,000 Preferred after winning last week’s $20,000 Open pace, Bushwacker mixed it up early before being treated to a ground-saving trip through the middle stages of the mile. Corey Callahan had Bushwacker stalking Seventh Street through middle panels of :54.1 and 1:21.2 before tracking down that foe in the final strides. Bushwacker’s :28-second kicker earned him the win by three-quarters of a length over Sweet Rock in 1:49.3. Seventh Secret took home third prize.

Chris Ryder trains six-year-old son of Rocknroll Hanover-Dolphins Can Talk, who closed at odds of 12-1, for Henderson Farms of Chicago, IL. The 25-time winner pushed his lifetime earnings over $560,000 with the win.

Also going sub-1:50 on Thursday’s card was Remember Me VK in a $12,000 conditioned event for male pacers. Montrell Teague had the Robert Wyatt pupil on the lead through fractions of :26.2, :54.3 and 1:22 before using a :27.4 closing panel to seal the deal by 3-3/4 lengths over Acting Out in 1:49.4.

The five-year-old son of Art Director-All Memory is owned by Sharon Wyatt, Robin West and Ronald Benton. It was the 16th lifetime score for the pacer who surpassed $250,000 in earnings with the win.
