Hammered down to 1-9, Game Of Shadows made that money look mighty smart as she rolled to her third straight victory in Wednesday’s (Jan. 19) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 filly and mare conditioned pace.
Once Game Of Shadows seized the lead from post four, pocketed challenger Dream Dancing and enjoyed a :29.2 second-quarter breather from Hunter Myers, the race for win essentially was over. The four-year-old daughter of Shadow Play-Cheyenne Ava prevailed in 1:52.4, a length better than Dream Dancing, while Tonianne rallied wide for show.
Paul Corey trains the winner, who lifted her lifetime bankroll to $183,564, for Kenneth Ashba.
Dave Palone piloted three winners, including a pair for trainer Scott Betts, on the 10-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the 10-race program features a $6,737.55 carryover in the Jackpot Pick 5 (race four). First post is 12:45 p.m.
