Boos Party Girl Celebrates A Shocker

Boos Party Girl had plenty to celebrate Tuesday at The Meadows as she pulled off a 23-1 shocker in the $22,500 Filly & Mare Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot.

The longest shot on the board, Boos Party Girl had been racing exclusively in conditioned races until her promotion to the top trot last week. On Tuesday, she was third over and seemingly no threat when trainer/driver Brian Zendt moved her wide for the drive. The six-year-old daughter of Yankee Glide-Chowda roared past the field and triumphed in 1:56 over a “good” surface, matching her career best. Bessie shot the Lightning Lane for second, 3/4 lengths back, with Anaffairtoremember third.

Dunn Stable bred and owns Boos Party Girl, who now boasts $172,764 in lifetime earnings.

Dave Palone drove five winners on the 15-race card while trainer Dane Snyder fashioned a three-bagger.

THE MEADOWS ADDS $15,000 GUARANTEE FOR WEDNESDAY PICK 5

On Wednesday, Jan. 20, The Meadows Racetrack & Casino will offer a $15,000 total-pool guarantee for its Pick 5 wager as part of the United States Trotting Association's Strategic Wagering Initiative. The Meadows added the “instant” guarantee after Tuesday’s Pick 5 was uncovered, resulting in a three-day carryover of $4,457.48.

In addition, Wednesday’s card includes a $5,000 total-pool guarantee for the Pick 4, a regular feature of each program at The Meadows.

Minimum wager for the Pick 4 (races 4-7) and Pick 5 (races 11-15) is 50 cents. Since Pennsylvania law requires a minimum per-race wager of $2, a player wagering at the 50-cent level must bet at least four tickets.

First post for Wednesday’s program is 1:00 p.m.
