Ten-year-old trotting mare Roxane Griff defended her title in the Prix de Cornulier, the richest racing under saddle stakes held one week before the 2015 Prix d'Amerique at Paris-Vincennes.
Sunday's 2,700-metre monte race featured 18 horses vying for the lion's share of a purse worth 700,000 Euros.
Roxane Griff (#18) sat third over throughout the race and began to improve position moving out wide around the final turn. Despite drifting out in the stretch right down to the grandstand rail, the Sebastian Guarato trainee prevailed with rider Eric Raffin throwing his hands up in celebration at the finish as he did in the 2014 edition.
Tiégo d'Etang (#17) followed the winner and overtook Vittel de Brévol (#3), who was on top for most of the race, late in the stretch to finish a close second. Vittel de Brévol was disqualified upon review and Talicia Bella (#16) inherited third.
