It took 23-year-old Rachel Kaneoka just two starts to pick up driving win number one
.
The young trainer, who conditions for top driver Elliott Deaton, Kent State basketball coach Geno Ford and others, just recently earned her provisional license and broke her maiden Wednesday, January 12, driving Jeff Welling’s pacer No Risk in the final race of the night at Northfield Park.
The 6-5 favourite paid $4.40 after pacing in 2:01, leading at nearly every call. The victory was the 11-year-old gelding's second of the year in as many starts.
Kaneoka turns 24 on Saturday.
