On Wednesday, January 15, legislators in Kentucky discussed a bill that calls for a constitutional amendment which could ultimately lead to casino expansion at state racetracks.

As a report by cincinnati.com explains, the legislation is sponsored by House Speaker Larry Clark. The bill calls for the casino expansion issue to be put on the November ballot.

According to the article, the amendment – which would have to be passed by the state’s general assembly and the voters – would see casinos introduced at five thoroughbred tracks in the state. The legislation also calls for three stand-alone casinos.
