Shedding his cover before the three-quarters, Lonesome Attack powered through the lane to capture his second straight victory in Wednesday’s $22,500 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Hammered down to 3-5 despite jumping two classes, Lonesome Attack was unhurried early before unleashing his potent late kick over a “good” surface for Brett Miller. The five-year-old On The Attack-Lady Lonesome gelding scored in 1:53.2 over the rallying JJ Gladiator and Risk Management.
Virgil Morgan, Jr. trains Lonesome Attack, who now boasts $246,884 in career earnings, for Gerrie Tucker, Ciro Gentile and Debbie Bird.
Tony Hall drove three winners on the 13-race card while Randy Bendis enjoyed a training triple.
