For the second consecutive week the $30,000 Open Pace at the Meadowlands belonged to Michaels Marvel, who front-stepped to a 1:51 victory for owner Robert Murphy of Surrey, British Columbia
.
Driver George Brennan wasted no time in hustling Michaels Marvel to the engine, and the eight-year-old son of Jennas Beach Boy successfully carved out splits of :27, :55.3 and 1:23.3 before scooting home in :27.2 for the 1:51 score. Golden Receiver and Martha Maxine, finished in a dead-heat for the runner-up award.
Michaels Marvel is 2-for-3 this season after going 6-for-26 last season. The 26-time winner upped his lifetime earnings to $738,448 with the win.
