
Electric Amadeus powered through the mile as the pacesetter in the $11,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred 2 Pace on Wednesday evening, Jan. 15 at Century Mile and she kept on going to win in a mild upset at 5-1 odds.
James Jungquist accelerated off the gate with Electric Amadeus and to the top. Electric Amadeus maintained a 1-1/2-length lead through the :28.3 quarter and :58.3 half. Her lead narrowed through the three-quarters in 1:27.4 as six of the pacing ladies followed the outer charge led by Bares All (Logan Gillis), but Electric Amadeus powered forward.
From post 10 as the longest shot on the board, Sunshineatthebeach (Jamie Gray) zoomed through traffic to give Electric Amadeus her greatest challenge in the stretch, but Electric Amadeus was relentless and won by a half length in 1:57.1. Bares All rounded out the top three.
Electric Amadeus (Rockin Amadeus-Still Electric) is a nine-year-old mare owned by trainer Brinsley Brooking Lutz and Harvey Jaeger. She is a perfect two-for-two in 2025 and earned her 29th victory from 93 career starts, lifting her bankroll to $147,609. From 5-1 odds, Electric Amadeus paid $11.50 to win.
The win in the feature with Electric Amadeus was one of three on the card for trainer Brinsley Brooking Lutz as she also won with Kiss My Bet ($5.50) and Outrageous N Fancy ($4.30), both steered to victory by Jungquist.
