It was reported today that the state of New Hampshire has given the green light for stringent regulations protecting punters of horse and dog races if the track goes under.
According to a report on the Concord Monitor, the Racing and Charitable Gaming Commission approved regulations on Tuesday, January 13.
The rules could have saved bettors at the bankrupt Hinsdale Greyhound Park a half million dollars they had in betting accounts at the track.
Hinsdale Greyhound Park announced on Monday, December 15, 2008 that it had ceased operations and surrendered its pari-mutuel license to state regulators.
