Stompin Tom Creek Romps In Preferred

Stompin Tom Creek didn’t just win Sunday’s $6,500 Preferred 3 at Flamboro Downs, he blew the competition out of the water thanks to his 1:54.2 triumph.

With Billy Davis Jr. in the bike, Stompin Tom Creek blasted to the early lead from the rail and set sail through intervals of :28, :57.2 and 1:26.1 before using a :28.1 final frame to seal the deal. The margin of victory in the 1:54.2 decision was 5-3/4 lengths over runner-up Web Cam. Third prize went to Val America.

Andrew McCabe conditions the seven-year-old son of Western Terror-Jacks Creek for Glenview Livestock Lt of Guelph and Len Christopher of Acton, Ontario. The gelding, who was sent off as the 2-5 favourite, is 2-for-2 this season after going 9-for-41 last year. The 24-time winner recently surpassed $200,000 in lifetime earnings.
