Emtec, Inc., an I.T. systems and service company, today announced that a system has been set up in the Hoosier Park gaming area that can bring pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing directly to slot players

.

According to a release from Emtec, one of the many aspects of the system will enable slot customers to make wagers on horse racing. The system gives Hoosier Park a unique capability: pari-mutuel clerks with hand-held devices can roam the casino floor and take horse racing wagers from the slot players.

"Completing this task within two months was a challenge, but we were able to complete it on time and within budget - focusing on network design/implementation, security, managed back-end operations and wireless components," said Colwyn Warner, chief technologist of Emtec, Inc. "Given our deep expertise and work with other high-profile casinos such as Bally's and Caesar's, we were able to design a next-generation network infrastructure that can sustain immense future growth. We look forward to working with Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in the near future on other projects."

Grand River use to have roaming ticket takers on the tarmac, I guess it would be a bad idea to travel around the slot area...People are the to gamble, and as long as you have a screen set to the races ( not one of the tracks strong points @ this point)...You could maybe get interest from a few people.
