The Raceway at Western Fair District held their annual New Year’s Eve features on Thursday, December 31, the Auld Lang Syne Pace and Auld Lang Syne Trot.

A Preferred 3 event for horse and gelding pacers was also conducted.

Twin B Brat circled by horses after three-quarters, flying to the lead and away from his foes towards a 1:59.1 win under the guidance of Ross Battin. Riding the cover of a parked-out Red Leaf Morgan, Twin B Brat stalked race leader Mach It Paid through splits of :28.1, :58, and 1:28.2 before fanning wide and blasting to the top. Owned by Ervin and Avni Abdulov and trained by Ervin Abdulov, the $10 winner finished in front of Red Leaf Morgan and Mcrileymac.

Twin B Brat is a 10-year-old bay gelding by Million Dollar Cam out of the No Nukes mare Im No Brat.

Owned, trained, and driven by Peter Hamilton, Black Diamond Star romped in the Auld Lang Syne Trot, winning in 2:03.1. The 11-year-old black mare by Angus Hall out of the Baltic Speed mare Sweetsie Frazer collected her 31st win in 225 starts, as well as her third win in a row. She paid $4.80.

Little Quick achieved his fourth consecutive win when taking the Preferred 3, doing so by circumventing stalled cover and swooping by rivals late in the stretch to win by nearly two lengths in 1:58.1. Paying $18.80 to win, the eight-year-old brown gelding by Quick Comeback out of the Coal Harbor mare Norwell Lilyharbor won her 31st race in 193 tries. She is owned by Rebecca Williamson, trained by Eric Billings, and driven by Scott Wray.
