Canada's 2014 win leader and first-time O'Brien Award finalist Trevor Henry earned five consecutive victories during Western Fair Raceway's New Year's Eve card.

Henry dominated races two through six and his first three winners were all maiden-breakers, including Delcrest Massy ($7.90) for Western Fair's top trainer Victor Puddy, Aprilnart ($5.70) for David O'Brien and Senior Market ($2.60) for Catherine Gaudreau. Henry also drove Randy Marriage's Arnies Kick Start ($4.70) and his final victory came with another Puddy trainee, Johnny Prine Tyme ($4.50), a 12-time winner this year.

The Arthur, Ont. horseman won 472 times in 2014 and earned a career-high $3.48 million in purses. He has won 5,600 races lifetime and his mounts have banked over $35.8 million.

Bolero Trisco ($10.50) won Canada's final harness race of 2014 as he rallied wide from third over down the backstretch and drew off by five and three-quarter lengths in the $6,000 Auld Lang Syne Pace. Driven by co-owner Jean Renaud Bernard, Bolero Trisco was victorious in 1:59.2 over favourite Windsun Callum and Henry. R M Karima and Lorne House finished third. Bernard shares ownership of the 10-year-old Northern Luck pacer with Jeremie Deraspe while Julie Walker handles the training duties.

The Kirk Jamieson-owned and trained Stanchion Hanover and Robert Sparling Jr. pulled off a 35-1 upset in the matching Auld Lang Syne Trot, returning $73.70 to win. The seven-year-old Cantab Hall gelding swept up from third to win by three and a half lengths in 2:03.4 while Motor Vision and Pat Barr edged out the popular race leaders, Twin B Excalibur and Danny Johnson, for the runner-up honours.

The weekly $10,500 Preferred 2 Pace for fillies and mares went to Ross Family Farms' Jabas Luck ($3.20), who retook the lead early on and cruised to a five length victory in 1:58 for the father-son, trainer-driver duo of Bob and Scott Young. S A Lowe and Western Fair's leading driver Alfie Carroll finished second to the seven-year-old Camluck mare while After Alimony and Lorne House were third. She's now won six of her last seven starts.
