Vote For Canada's Best Race Call - March 15

Standardbred Canada continues its first March Madness-style tournament to determine the best race call in Canadian harness racing.

From races available online as of March 1, 2019, SC has compiled a list of 48 exciting races from across the country, representing the most recognizable announcers in the nation.

For the month of March, a new set of races will be posted at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern) for fans to have their say on which race call is the best. Voting will only be open for each set of races for 24 hours. In the event of a tie, voting will be left open for 30 additional minutes.

The first round of the contest will consist of 16 brackets with three races each, with only one race from each of these brackets advancing to the next round.

Races for each of the first 16 brackets will only be revealed on the day of voting.

The voting breakdown from the races posted on March 14:

  • 2011 Governors Plate (Vance Cameron) - 62.9%, advances to second round

  • 1991 Provincial Cup (Roger Huston) - 19.8%

  • 2006 Canadian Trotting Classic (Ken Middleton) - 17.3%
