At 12-1 odds, Lombo Skyrider A and Don Gillis Jr. pulled off the upset by defeating 1-5 shot Pacific Mariner and capturing the one-eighth mile $20,000 Xtreme Sprint Classic on Saturday night as part of Xtreme Horsepower at Georgian Downs.
In a race that was simply a stretch duel and all-out sprint, Lombo Skyrider A hit the wire in 12 seconds to capture his second win of the night - and his only two wins in 23 starts this year.
Gills trains and drives Lombo Skyrider A (Panorama - Decethree Lombo) for John Bianco of Woodbridge, Ont.
