Harness Racing PEI will host its last qualifying session for the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship Thursday night (September 11) at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The participant has to select one (1) horse in each race and purchase a corresponding Win and Place ticket. The contest includes Races 8, 9 and 10 from Charlottetown and Races 2, 3 and 4 from Mohawk Racetrack.

The winner will join Robert Smith and Ken MacDougall, who won their respective qualifying competitions, in the final at Woodbine Racetrack on October 18, 2008.

The Championship format at Woodbine will have participants make mythical $2 Win and $2 Place wagers on a maximum of 20 different races to be chosen from eligible Canadian racetracks as determined by Championship officials.

The person with the highest bankroll at the end of the Championship will win the Grand Prize of $25,000.
