Spots Available For Handicapping Auction

Spots are running out in Trot Magazine's Handicapping Auction, which offers a chance to earn $2,100 and a spot in the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship with a guaranteed grand prize of $25,000.

The auction is capped at 30 entries.

The Handicapping Auction will take place on Monday, September 22 at Mohawk Racetrack. A minimum of 15 entries are required. The entry fee is $100 and players will only be competing against a maximum of 29 other handicappers. In addition to winning a coveted spot in the TCNHC, all of the entry monies will be shared between the top three finishers.

To register for SC's Handicapping Auction, contact Kathy Wade Vlaar or Erin Braybrook at 905-858-3060 (Ext. 207 or 243). Entries will be taken on a first come, first serve basis, with a valid credit card. There will be no refunds once a spot is paid for.

All entrants will receive a $100 mythical bankroll. Horses in races at Mohawk and Grand River Raceway will be auctioned off between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Players bid on horses that they want a $2 win and $2 place wager on. The minimum bid is $2 per horse. Only one successful bidder will receive a specific horse. There is no maximum number of horses per stable.

The bidder / entrant with the highest total payoffs based on their horses official win and place payoffs will win a spot in the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship scheduled for Saturday, October 18 at Woodbine Racetrack.

In addition the entry monies will be shared between the top three finishers. The winner will receive 70% or $2,100 if 30 people enter; second will receive 20% or $600 if 30 people enter and third place will receive 10% or $300 if 30 people enter.
