Sale Entry Deadline Extended

Deadline for the Island Standardbred Mixed Sale, to be held on Saturday, October 18, has been extended due to the holiday to Tuesday, October 14.

Among the broodmares already entered are two by Super Bowl. Critic Hanover by Super Bowl is the half sister to the dam of Possess The Magic 3,1:53.3 ($1,102,619) and to the fastest two year old trotter of 2008 in North America in Swan For All 2,1:54.1. Sunshine Belle by Super Bowl is the half sister to Semper Fi Hall, a winner of over $551,000. Both mares are in foal to Northern Bailey, the fastest and richest trotting stallion in Atlantic Canada.

Other broodmares consigned are by such top sires as Western Hanover, Life Sign, In The Pocket and Matts Scooter and in foal to N Xample and Western Success, There are also young horses of racing age currently racing including three-year old recent winners by Western Paradise and Nikes Image, and several well pedigreed two-year olds that are lightly raced to date. Equestrian fanciers will have the opportunity to buy a four-year old Palomino mare that is trained for Western riding.

Horses of racing age will be accepted up until Friday, October 17 and will sell off their race lines. Weanlings, yearlings and broodmares must be consigned by the October 14 deadline. The catalogue list will be available on Wednesday.

The sale will be held at the Crapaud Agriplex, behind the Crapaud Arena, starting at 1:00 p.m. All horses consigned must be on hand by 11:00 a.m. for inspection.
