The election for the OHHA Board of Directors will be held on December 9, 2008 and eight seats are up for election in six of the 11 districts.

Any OHHA member may consider running for the office of Director. OHHA members who reside in an electoral district may nominate any OHHA member in good standing. The nomination must be signed by an additional ten (10) members in the district and must bear the signature of the nominee indicating his/her consent to stand.

If no one is nominated for a seat in a district the incumbent Director(s) who is (are) standing for re-election will be acclaimed for a term of two years.

Directors who have consented to stand for re-election are:

In District 3 - Doug Hie
In District 4 - Gerry Lamoureux
In District 5 - Kent Baker and David Byron
In District 7 - Jim Whelan
In District 10 - Bill Bannon and Colleen Belore

One additional seat is available in District 4 due to the resignation of Troy Rossignol earlier this year.

In District 8 Director Trevor Henry has declined to stand for re-election.

Nomination forms were mailed out to the members in the above-mentioned districts in the middle of September and are due back at the OHHA office by October 14, 2008.

If you have questions regarding the election or its procedure please feel free to contact John Walzak, chief operations officer, at 905-854-6442 (local) or 1-866-774-6442 (Ext. 226).
