Driver Michael Langdon got position early and closed with a thunderous rush down the lane to slam-dunk his way to victory in the $20,000 Xtreme Challenge Pace with Electric Hoops.
Langdon had his pacer up front early but eventually ceded the lead to Coltin Duharas (Anthony MacDonald), who did most of the roadwork in the one and five-eighths mile race and eventually took the field into the stretch before fading. Electric Hoops sprinted down the stretch quickly enough to trip the timer in 3:18, with Magnum Star (Tomas Dalborg) taking the place and Santas Special (Des Tackoor) giving his owners the gift of show money.
Michelle Bohrer trains and co-owns Electric Hoops (Electric Yankee - Toga) along with co-owner John Langdon of Ancaster, Ont.
