NATIONAL DEBT
The ageless National Debt was no stranger to the Rideau Carleton Raceway winner's circle either, racking up 14 wins during his 10-year-old campaign with seven seconds and a third from 28 starts while adding $82,025 to his bankroll. Owned by Francois Morin of Beauceville, Que., the son of Allamerican Native earned 13 of his victories in Preferred action in Ottawa for trainer Yves Tessier and claimed the Walter Dale Invitational Pace at Exhibition Park Raceway during a summer trip to the Maritimes with trainer Colin Johnson. The 80-time career winner equalled his 1:51.2 lifetime mark nosing out The Light Speed in a photo finish on September 5.
SHOOTINFORTHESTARS
At age 10, Shootinforthestars was also a 14-time winner while touring tracks across Ontario for trainer Tyler Nostadt and Ohio's Blueshoe Investments. The Sand Shooter gelding, who put together a seven-race win streak this summer, picked up wins at Dresden, Clinton, Leamington, Flamboro and Western Fair while earning $36,210 from 24 starts on Canadian soil.
