Truro Raceway will be hosting an appreciation night Saturday, November 29 for Somebeachsomewhere when he makes his last-ever start in the Breeders Crown at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The appreciation night will be taking place in Truro's grandstand.
Replays of 'The Beach's past performances will be shown on monitors, and those in attendance will also be able to watch feeds of the live action.
Those that attend will be eligible to win door prizes, wager on the races, participate in a 50-50 draw and be able to take advantage of food and drinks at special prices. Souvenirs of The Beach will be available, as will souvenir race programs.
Musical entertainment will keep people lively from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Those interested in booking reserved tables in the Turf Dining Room are encouraged to contact the raceway as soon as possible. Table seating for four people is available for $60 ($15 per person). The reservation includes complimentary programs, a $10 betting voucher, meal, beverage and snack tray.

Too bad I won't be there! Beach draws in local residents who have never set foot on the track grounds - often they have never even seen a horse face to face. The one time I made it to a Beach party in Truro the place was packed and everyone was having a blast. We need horses like Beach to continue racing so we can keep those fans who spend money at the track and get interested in harness racing. Have fun!
