Trot Insider has learned that horseman William ‘Peter’ Seaman passed away on February 24 at the age of 64.
Seaman had not been active in the industry for the past few years due to health issues. He was a longtime trainer/driver that competed at Windsor Raceway, the Meadowlands Racetrack and in the Greater Toronto Area.
There are few details at this time, but Trot Insider will update this notice when more information is available.

well thanks to everyone who has posted comment my uncle was a strong man loved by every one as I read this its still hard to grasp we would go eat wings and he would tell me about the tracks he ran at and ppl he new and places he has been miss u lots :(

Well Pete you never did make it back to spend a few weeks with me, sure will miss you, you were a true friend and person, your love for the horses and all animals will be greatly missed. I called you begin Feb and left a message, you were sleeping, I guess you never got the message. R.I.P. my friend , my prayers are with you and my condolences to the Seaman family. BON VOYAGE.

Pete we go back 30 years in our horsemanship and friendship. Great dinners and laughs...you cooked for my family and friends. Thanks for the memories. RIP

So sorry to hear of Peter's passing. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend during our days at the Meadowlands. I felt privileged to drive his horses at Hollywood Park. You will be missed. Rest in peace and give Cindy a biscuit.

Pete was there in 1976 at the Meadowlands when they opened as I was. We had some great times. He was a great guy. Rest in peace my friend.

Peter Seaman was born in
Peter Seaman was born in Moncton, New Brunswick. He raced a few years at Windsor Raceway but in 1976 he headed to the Meadowlands with a stable of horses, there he had many successful years. He loved what he did for a living. His greatest horse was Safe Arrival Peter passed away with health complications on Feb 24 at his sister's (Ruth) home in Calgary Alberta. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Rest in Peace
