As the participants in the National Driving Championship arrive in PEI, they are being treated to beautiful weather ahead of tonight's reception. Check out what they're up to in Road to the NDC: Day 5, the last day before the big event.

Arrived here yesterday in PEI, our flight was late, delayed a bit. I got a nice surprise when I arrived at the hotel; my Mom flew all the way from British Columbia to surprise me. The Drivers’ Challenge is tomorrow and the nerves are starting to kick in. Both Dan Jukich and Garnet Barnsdale pick me to win in the Pick 8 Handicapping Contest. Going to try and enjoy my day on the Island.

Today is travel day for me. Danica, myself and Ivy are currently driving over, almost to the bridge. The weather is awesome and a great forecast for tomorrow night as well. Getting pretty excited about the whole event now!

The sun is shining in Ottawa. I’m having breakfast before I board. It should be a quiet flight as I am not sitting near my wife. I will possibly sleep all the way to Charlottetown. I can’t wait to get there, see you soon!

Arrived in PEI yesterday, checked in on Up the Credit at Charlottetown Driving Park. He’s ready! It’s a tough field for the Founders Cup, but he’ll be competitive! Had seafood chowder at Hunters Restaurant Pub last night. They don’t just swim the fish through the chowder in PEI, it was great! Had one glass of wine on Victoria Drive in downtown Charlottetown and went to bed. I think I might be jet lagged because I was late to a meeting this morning and I’m so thirsty! Maybe it’s the one glass of PEI wine? I don’t know.

Good morning everybody, it’s 5 a.m. and I’m ready to go at the airport. It’s another sunny day, and I can tell you, I’m ready to go. I can’t wait to be in that magnificent place and see all the real horse fans. I feel like when I was young, dreams do come true.
