Our drivers received the program pages yesterday evening in preparation for today's draft. Check out what's going on in the Road to the NDC: Day 2.

It’s a cold morning here in Edmonton; it was two degrees on the way to the barn. I got a few trained before heading home to do the draft. I’ve been over the program several times, highlighting everything that sticks out to me. I’m just hoping for a little luck today in getting a few of the horses I picked out. After the draft, it’s back to the farm to school one and finish up. Then it’s back to time with my daughter and girlfriend, and try to get a little more organized for the trip.

Today is the day of the draft. I printed off the race lines and studied them between my races last night at Mohawk. I'm both excited and nervous about it, hope I make the right choices. Trying to keep my head clear and not over think about this morning by going to the gym and letting my dogs entertain me!

Today I have been busy flying around the skies reading the program for Tuesday night. I have a 2 hour break in Halifax between flights and will be doing the draft. Excited to find out the horses I will be driving in the challenge.

I sat down late last night after the race card to finalize my choices. I am slowly preparing for my trip. Today, I will be making sure that my horses are well taken care of while I’m gone. Leaving the barn is never easy even for a few days. I have hired extra help and my right hand man Seth Mcleod will be in charge. I have spoken to my veterinarian who usually comes around on Monday to brief him on what needs to be done and have called my blacksmith who will be by on Wednesday. Feed box is full and there is plenty of hay until I get back. I will be going home earlier today to take part in the conference call in order to pick my drives for the challenge. I have done my homework and feel confident.

Had a good night in Rideau but messed up with Maximuscle as he was too on the muscle! It was nice to be anywhere else than the ‘Hawk last night! I had to endure the stylings of James Mac and Dougie McNair on the plane home. I’m sitting at the qualifiers at Mohawk and waiting to go with tomorrow’s superstars or whoever I’m down on today. Scott Zeron is in the house this morning as well. Remember when he was a punk kid begging people to let him drive? Now he’s a major success in the USA and on the verge of making a great name for himself! Have the NDC draft at noon, and gym at 1 and funky monkey at 2:30pm. Then it’s Mohawk all night once again!

Today we stay in Ottawa for the race tonight and we went to the barn to take care of our horses this morning. We’re going to have some lunch with some friends and relax, after getting ready for the race tonight. We’re in the seventh with Madame Raymonde at Rideau Carleton.
