Never let the seat of your pants touch the ice

Frank Salive had plenty of interesting tidbits to share during our latest episode of CRIBS, but that pearl was my favourite

. He meant it as a literal goalie reference, but I took it figuratively, because it has more than just a wisp of truth to it. Frank certainly embodies its wisdom; he’s just as busy as he’s ever been, calling races at several tracks throughout Ontario.

Racing fans really like Frank, and they should. He’s without a doubt one of the all-time greatest race callers, and he’s a heck of a nice guy to boot. He has a ton of fascinating tales about his days in hockey, his broadcasting career with the CBC, and his 15 years with WEG.

He’s called more than 100,000 races at several dozen racetracks all across the globe. He’s one very, very unique dude. I hope you enjoy our second episode of CRIBS.
