Have you seen the line-up for the SC Wagering Conference later this month?
It should be a slam-bang event with lots of hot topics to be discussed and surely some lively exchanges among the panelists and audience members. I'm slated to moderate one session and I certainly look forward to hearing what the speakers have to say.
This even is groundbreaking in the Standardbred world and the first SC Wagering Conference last year drew lots of positive comments. I had to miss that one because I was involved in the Kentucky International Equine Summit in Lexington, but that's an every-other-year even and won't pose a conflict in 2009.
With its location in Windsor, the SC Wagering Conference should attract many US racing executives. Just looking at the topics is pretty tempting.
Of course, I've been to lots of conferences over the years and often the title of the panel is more exciting than the actual panel itself. Not all speakers are dazzling and now all of them say interesting things. But you always go into these events with great anticipation. And surely some of the presentations will be superb and quite worthwhile.
I'm getting fired up already and we're still three weeks away.
