Recently I wrote about the influence of Muscles Yankee in Ontario breeding with Federal Flex joining Muscle Mass and Mutineer in the stud in the province. All three are sons of Muscles Yankee.
The influence of Muscles Yankee extends to Finland, too, where his son Diesel Don bred more mares than any other trotting stallion. Diesel Don, by the way, just happens to be a brother to Muscle Hill, sure to be the Horse of the Year in America in 2009.
Diesel Don bred 91 mares, edging Super Toy, who served a book of 89 mares. Express It, a highly-regarded young horse, bred 86 mares while Lass Zephyr checked in with 78 mares and Anderberg at 68 mares. (Anderberg led the Finnish list in 2008 when he served a book of 101 mares.
Among the others, former Hanover stallion Donerail bred 59 mares in Finland in 2009 after a book of 100 mares the previous year.
In 2009, Northern Ensign bred 54, Beer Budget bred 51, and Capetown Hall was mated to 34 mares.
