Last year’s Hambletonian winner Deweycheatumnhowe served a book of 143 mares this past season at Walnut Hall Limited in Kentucky. The son of Muscles Yankee had stood for a fee of $25,000.
Dewey had bred one mare in 2008 before his racing season. He bred the 3-year-old Swank Hall, owned by Walnut Hall Limited, once on Feb. 8, 2008. She did not get in foal and was later bred to Cash Hall once and delivered a filly this past February.
Crazed, the runner-up to Dewey in the Hambo and the first horse to defeat Dewey, bred 140 mares at Blue Chip Farm last year and I’ll comment on them in coming weeks.
