Longtime industry participant Ross Boyd passed away on September 7, 2014 at the age of 86.
Along with sons Ken, Jim and Bob, Ross Boyd was an owner and active trainer in Sun Brier Stables. One of Ross' favourite horses was pacing mare Sun Brier Rose.
Loving husband for 61 years of Peggy (nee Stephenson). Dear dad to three sons, Ken and his wife Sherry-Lee, Bob and his wife Chris and Jim and his wife Colleen. Much loved grandpa of Nicholas and Kendall; Rebecca, Michael and Brianna; Jessica and Dustin. Dear brother of Bill (predeceased) and his wife Pauline, Laverne (Carol), Arlene (Bob), Marvleen (Ted, predeceased), Hamilton (Grace), Marion (Erv), Neil (Norma).
A memorial visitation will take place at Newcastle Funeral Home, 386 Mill St S., Newcastle on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 1:00 p.m to 4:30 p.m. As per Ross' wishes, come as you are. A private graveside service has already taken place.
