Andrew Stakes Set For Thursday

Dusty Lane Titan will attempt to stretch his win streak to three when two-year-old trotters face off in the Blair Andrew Memorial this Thursday evening (Sept. 5) at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park.

The CDP’s 13-dash program will kick off at 6:30 p.m. The $10,000 Blair Andrew Memorial divisions for juvenile trotters have been carded as Race 1 and Race 3.

Dusty Lane Titan has been favoured in the second split for trainer-driver Marc Campbell and owner Grayland Farm of Pugwash, N.S. The son of Tad The Stud was a winner in his last two outings with Campbell at the controls and will look to replicate those efforts from Post 3 this week. Jareds Courage, who was the runner-up to Dusty Lane Titan in their last start, has been saddled with Post 6 this week with Gilles Barrieau at the lines for trainer Tom Weatherbie. Windemerebarrister has been installed as second early favourite from Post 4 for trainer Alan McNeil (Walter Cheverie has picked up the catch drive this week).

The other Blair Andrew Memorial division will kick off the program. In the tilt, Little Miss Winnie will be putting her record of never missing the board to the test. Gilles Barrieau will be at the filly’s lines for trainer Ralph Annear and owner Steven Sorrie. The Tad The Stud filly is fresh off of a 2:03.4 victory. Northside Downs track record holder Dusty Lane Mavis will start from the outside in the compact field of five for trainer-driver Gary Chappell, while Now Look At Here (to be driven by Brian MacPhee) will start from Post 1.

Freddie has received top billing for the Race 10 Open Trot, which carries a purse of $1,950. Trainer Marc Campbell will drive his 43-time winner from Post 6 this week, and the duo will skirmish with five foes. Other top entries include Majian Tango (Jim Ripley) and Professor Gordon (Jason Hughes).
