Officials of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale are asking Canadian customers to contact them for assistance with entering the country from Canada through U.S. Customs.
Those needing guidance are asked to call sale co-manager Randy Manges as soon as possible at 859-351-4595.
The sale gets underway Tuesday evening, Oct. 5 and continues with daily sessions through Saturday, Oct. 9.
“With stakes racing and sales there has been a reasonably fluid movement of both horses and their connections to and from Canada,” Manges said. “But for those planning to come into the U.S. for the first time since COVID-19 regulations went into effect, we want to assist them in any way we can to ensure that they’ll be able to come to the sale.”
Manges said the open-air nature of the Fasig-Tipton sale facility is a plus for operating safely during the pandemic and he noted that last year the sale went off without any negative repercussions.
Those unable to attend can still participate via remote bidding and buying, as the sale will be livestreamed via the Proxibid website with real-time bidding offered.
“Proxibid was a great partner last year, and the online bidding went very smoothly. I expect buyers to be even more comfortable with that online option this year,” Manges said.
Information regarding Proxibid registration is available at lexingtonselected.com. The catalog is also available on the website and on the Equineline app.
