The Race Track Industry Program announced that Churchill Downs president & CEO Robert Evans will give the keynote address at the 2010 Symposium on Racing
& Gaming.
Evans, with his diverse management experience as co-founder and managing director of the private equity firm Symphony Technology Group; president and chief operating officer of the enterprise software firm Aspect Development Inc.; managing partner of the Americas Supply Chain Practice for Accenture Ltd.; vice president of customer support for Mazda Motor of America Inc.; and co-founder and president of the outsourcing services subsidiary Caterpillar Logistics Services Inc., brings a wealth of knowledge to the racing industry.
“We’re pleased to get the Symposium on Racing and Gaming off to such a dynamic start by offering the attendees Evans’ insight on racing,” said Doug Reed, Director of the Race Track Industry Program.
The Race Track Industry Program’s annual Symposium on Racing & Gaming, to be held December 6 – 9, 2010, this year becomes the permanent home for a number of industry events including Harness Tracks of America’s Annual Meeting, The NTRA Annual Meeting and the NTRA Marketing Summit.
Additional meetings and events scheduled during the 2010 Symposium include:
The International Tote Protocol Group - an international working group that looks at issues and solutions to problems regarding the protocol for merging international pools; the Turf Publicists of America’s presentation of the Mark Kaufman Workshop; the Big Sport of Turfdom Award luncheon sponsored by Turf Publicists of America; The Jockeys’ Guild Annual Assembly; the RCI Model Rules Committee; the ARCI Board of Directors and a roundtable discussion with ARCI and Jockeys’ Guild members.
The Race Track Industry Program has gained worldwide recognition for its annual Symposium on Racing & Gaming held in Tucson, Arizona each December since 1974. The event attracts attendees from across the United States and around the globe with cutting-edge topics and trends of importance to the pari-mutuel industry.
The University of Arizona’s Race Track Industry Program offers both a Bachelors and Master’s degree program with an emphasis on the pari-mutuel racing industry.
